'Breaking Up' - The Reviews Are In!

Meredith Blake of the LA Times points out something that I've noticed myself: "Why does everyone on this show say 'phone' instead of 'call'?  It's a trifling detail, but it drives me crazy."
Maybe it's a Chicago thing? Other than that Blake wasn't impressed with the B-plot aka Leelee Sobieski and the whole prisoner's dilemma thing but noticed that there seem to be a prevailing contemplative mood throughout the episode.

Ken Tucker over at EW.com liked the episode but also pointed out that it was one of the few episodes that features a fairly passive Alicia. In fact, she hardly did anything after Will and Diane arrived. It was interesting to see her observe Will, obviously thinking about the choice she will have to make soon. We all know by now that Will can be a ruthless lawyer (Alicia is certainly no angel either) but this episode definitely featured a dark, unsympathetic Will, perhaps even surprising Alica who got fairly emotional toward the end of the episode..
